Francesco Lamperti

Assistant Professor at Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies

Francesco Lamperti is an Assistant Professor of Economics at the Institute of Economics and EMbeDS department of Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna (Pisa). Francesco is also a scientist at the RFF-CMCC European Institute of Economics and the Environment based in Milan, and has previously been a Research Fellow at the Istitute of Economics of Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna and a Junior Researcher at the Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei. His research interests are mainly focused on macroeconomics, agent-based and integrated assessment modelling, climate change economics and the dynamics of natural disasters. Francesco holds a Bachelor and a Master of Science in Economics from Bocconi University (Milan) and, in 2016, he obtained a Ph.D. in Economics from Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna (Pisa). In his doctoral thesis, titled "Climate Change and Macroeconomic Dynamics: a Complex System Perspective" he developed DSK, a global-scale agent-based integrated assessment model. Francesco's research agenda aims to foster our understanding of climate impacts on economic activities through bottom-up approaches and, further, to design suitable policy solutions -- overcoming the focus on carbon taxation.
