Raffaele Perego (http://hpc.isti.cnr.it/~raffaele/), is a senior researcher of the Italian National Research Council (CNR). He leads the High Performance Computing Laboratory (HPC Lab) belonging to the Istituto di Scienza e Tecnologia dell’Informazione A. Faedo (ISTI), the largest CNR institute involved in ICT Research. The laboratory is located in the CNR Research Area of Pisa, and is closely linked with the universities of Pisa and the SoBigData Lab. His main research interests include the design of efficient information systems for the management, analysis and search of large amounts of data. The focus is the design and implementation of novel solutions relying on data mining and machine learning that can provide in near real-time precise answers to complex queries by possibly using a limited amount of computational resources. He has published more than 150 papers on these topics on peer-reviewed journals and proceedings of international conferences.
